As schools across the state have resumed full-time face-to-face instruction once again, we were hopeful that we could also bring the student showcase back to our Raleigh conference if safely possible - we missed this experience at NCTIES 2021!
While we have reached the difficult decision not to have this at our 2022 conference, we look forward to bringing this experience back as soon as we can safely do so. 2023, here we come! |
In 2020, 656 students from across NC came to share their digital learning experiences with NCTIES attendees. With them were 460 additional adults (their teachers and family members) there to support them. This event happened just before COVID-19 caused schools to shift gears to all remote instruction. We feel fortunate that we were able to gather before this occurred.
In 2021, our conference was entirely virtual, but as we look forward to a face-to-face conference in 2022, we hope that many events we look forward to each year will be unaffected. However, after monitoring current trends with COVID numbers, substitute shortages, and the lack of availability of vaccines for those under 12, we have decided that NCTIES Student Showcase will not be possible at the 2022 conference. In 2019, 641 students from around NC came to share their digital learning experiences with educators from far and wide. The map below shows just how far some of them traveled!
